관세법 제173조(세관검사장)

① 세관검사장은 통관하려는 물품을 검사하기 위한 장소로서 세관장이 지정하는 지역으로 한다.

② 세관장은 관세청장이 정하는 바에 따라 검사를 받을 물품의 전부 또는 일부를 세관검사장에 반입하여 검사할 수 있다

③ 제2항에 따라 세관검사장에 반입되는 물품의 채취ㆍ운반 등에 필요한 비용(이하 이 항에서 "검사비용"이라 한다)은 화주가 부담한다. 다만, 국가는 「중소기업기본법」 제2조에 따른 중소기업 또는 「중견기업 성장촉진 및 경쟁력 강화에 관한 특별법」 제2조제1호에 따른 중견기업의 컨테이너 화물로서 해당 화물에 대한 검사 결과 이 법 또는 「대외무역법」 등 물품의 수출입과 관련된 법령을 위반하지 아니하는 경우의 물품 등 대통령령으로 정하는 물품에 대해서는 예산의 범위에서 관세청장이 정하는 바에 따라 해당 검사비용을 지원할 수 있다. <개정 2019.12.31>
