대한민국헌법 제53조

①국회에서 의결된 법률안은 정부에 이송되어 15일 이내에 대통령이 공포한다.

②법률안에 이의가 있을 때에는 대통령은 제1항의 기간내에 이의서를 붙여 국회로 환부하고, 그 재의를 요구할 수 있다. 국회의 폐회 중에도 또한 같다.

③대통령은 법률안의 일부에 대하여 또는 법률안을 수정하여 재의를 요구할 수 없다.

(3) The^ð더 President프^r레저덴트 shall섈 not낫 request^r리퀘스트 reconsideration^r리컨시더^r레이션 of어^v브 only온리 part파트 of어^v브 a어 bill,빌 or오 of어^v브 a어 bill빌 with위^ð드 amendments.어멘드먼츠

④재의의 요구가 있을 때에는 국회는 재의에 붙이고, 재적의원 과반수의 출석과 출석의원 3분의 2 이상의 찬성으로 전과 같은 의결을 하면 그 법률안은 법률로서 확정된다.

(4) When웬 reconsideration^r리컨시더^r레이션 is이즈 requested,^r리퀘스티드 the^ð더 National내셔늘 Assembly어셈블리 shall섈 reconsider^r리컨시더 the^ð더 bill.빌 If이^f프 it잇 passes패시즈 the^ð더 bill빌 again어겐 in인 the^ð더 same세임 form,^f폼 with위^ð드 a어 majority머조^r러티 of어^v브 all올 members멤버즈 present프^r레전트 and앤드 the^ð더 votes^v보우츠 of어^v브 at앳 least리스트 two투 thirds^θ써즈 of어^v브 the^ð더 members멤버즈 present,프^r레전트 the^ð더 bill빌 becomes비컴즈 law.로

⑤대통령이 제1항의 기간 내에 공포나 재의의 요구를 하지 아니한 때에도 그 법률안은 법률로서 확정된다.

(5) If이^f프 the^ð더 President프^r레저덴트 neither니^ð더 promulgates프^r로멀게잇츠 the^ð더 bill빌 nor노 requests^r리퀘스츠 reconsideration^r리컨시더^r레이션 within위^ð딘 the^ð더 period피^r리어드 referred^r러^f퍼드 to투 in인 paragraph패^r러그^r래^f프 (1), the^ð더 bill빌 also올소 becomes비컴즈 law.로

⑥대통령은 제4항과 제5항의 규정에 의하여 확정된 법률을 지체없이 공포하여야 한다. 제5항에 의하여 법률이 확정된 후 또는 제4항에 의한 확정법률이 정부에 이송된 후 5일 이내에 대통령이 공포하지 아니할 때에는 국회의장이 이를 공포한다.

⑦법률은 특별한 규정이 없는 한 공포한 날로부터 20일을 경과함으로써 효력을 발생한다.
