언론중재 및 피해구제 등에 관한 법률 제4조(언론의 사회적 책임 등)

① 언론의 보도는 공정하고 객관적이어야 하고, 국민의 알권리와 표현의 자유를 보호ㆍ신장하여야 한다.

② 언론은 인간의 존엄과 가치를 존중하여야 하고, 타인의 명예를 훼손하거나 타인의 권리나 공중도덕 또는 사회윤리를 침해하여서는 아니 된다.

③ 언론은 공적인 관심사에 대하여 공익을 대변하며, 취재ㆍ보도ㆍ논평 또는 그 밖의 방법으로 민주적 여론형성에 이바지함으로써 그 공적 임무를 수행한다.
