자본시장과 금융투자업에 관한 법률 제294조(설립)

① 증권등(증권, 그 밖에 대통령령으로 정하는 것을 말한다. 이하 이 장에서 같다)의 집중예탁과 계좌 간 대체, 매매거래에 따른 결제업무 및 유통의 원활을 위하여 한국예탁결제원을 설립한다.

② 예탁결제원은 법인으로 한다.

③ 예탁결제원은 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 주된 사무소의 소재지에서 설립등기를 함으로써 성립한다.
