정부조직법 제47조(해양수산부)

① 해양수산부장관은 해양정책, 수산, 어촌개발 및 수산물 유통, 해운ㆍ항만, 해양환경, 해양조사, 해양수산자원개발, 해양과학기술연구ㆍ개발 및 해양안전심판에 관한 사무를 관장한다. <개정 2017.4.18>

② 해양에서의 경찰 및 오염방제에 관한 사무를 관장하기 위하여 해양수산부장관 소속으로 해양경찰청을 둔다. <신설 2017.7.26>
