평생교육법 제29조(학교의 평생교육)

①「초ㆍ중등교육법」및「고등교육법」에 따른 각급학교의 장은 평생교육을 실시하는 경우 평생교육의 이념에 따라 교육과정과 방법을 수요자 관점으로 개발ㆍ시행하도록 하며, 학교를 중심으로 공동체 및 지역문화 개발에 노력하여야 한다. <개정 2021.3.23>

② 각급학교의 장은 해당 학교의 교육여건을 고려하여 학생ㆍ학부모와 지역 주민의 요구에 부합하는 평생교육을 직접 실시하거나 지방자치단체 또는 민간에 위탁하여 실시할 수 있다. 다만, 영리를 목적으로 하는 법인 및 단체는 제외한다.

③ 제2항에 따른 학교의 평생교육을 실시하기 위하여 각급학교의 교실ㆍ도서관ㆍ체육관, 그 밖의 시설을 활용하여야 한다.

④ 제2항 및 제3항에 따라 학교의 장이 학교를 개방할 경우 개방시간 동안의 해당 시설의 관리ㆍ운영에 필요한 사항은 해당 지방자치단체의 조례로 정한다.
