재난 및 안전관리 기본법 제58조(재난피해 신고 및 조사)

① 재난으로 피해를 입은 사람은 피해상황을 행정안전부령으로 정하는 바에 따라 시장ㆍ군수ㆍ구청장(시ㆍ군ㆍ구대책본부가 운영되는 경우에는 해당 본부장을 말한다. 이하 이 조에서 같다)에게 신고할 수 있으며, 피해 신고를 받은 시장ㆍ군수ㆍ구청장은 피해상황을 조사한 후 중앙대책본부장에게 보고하여야 한다. <신설 2014.12.30, 2017.7.26>

② 재난관리책임기관의 장은 재난으로 인하여 피해가 발생한 경우에는 피해상황을 신속하게 조사한 후 그 결과를 중앙대책본부장에게 통보하여야 한다. <개정 2014.12.30>

③ 중앙대책본부장은 재난피해의 조사를 위하여 필요한 경우에는 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 관계 중앙행정기관 및 관계 재난관리책임기관의 장과 합동으로 중앙재난피해합동조사단을 편성하여 재난피해 상황을 조사할 수 있다. <개정 2014.12.30>

④ 중앙대책본부장은 제3항에 따른 중앙재난피해합동조사단을 편성하기 위하여 관계 재난관리책임기관의 장에게 소속 공무원이나 직원의 파견을 요청할 수 있다. 이 경우 요청을 받은 관계 재난관리책임기관의 장은 특별한 사유가 없으면 요청에 따라야 한다. <개정 2014.12.30, 2017.1.17>
