가족관계의 등록 등에 관한 법률 제21조(출생ㆍ사망의 동 경유 신고 등)

① 시에 있어서 출생ㆍ사망의 신고는 그 신고의 장소가 신고사건 본인의 주민등록지 또는 주민등록을 할 지역과 같은 경우에는 신고사건 본인의 주민등록지 또는 주민등록을 할 지역을 관할하는 동을 거쳐 할 수 있다.

② 제1항의 경우 동장은 소속 시장을 대행하여 신고서를 수리하고, 동이 속하는 시의 장에게 신고서를 송부하며, 그 밖에 대법원규칙으로 정하는 등록사무를 처리한다.
