고등교육법 제53조(원격대학의 과정 및 수업연한)

① 원격대학에는 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 전문학사학위과정과 학사학위과정을 둘 수 있다.

② 원격대학의 전문학사학위과정의 수업연한은 2년으로 하고, 학사학위과정의 수업연한은 4년으로 한다. <개정 2013.8.13>

③ 원격대학은 학칙으로 정하는 바에 따라 학위취득에 필요한 학점 이상을 취득한 사람에 대하여는 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 제2항에 따른 수업연한을 단축할 수 있다. <신설 2013.8.13>
