Enforcement Decree of the Road Traffic Act, Article 52-2 (Keeping, Destruction, etc. of Driver's License Cards)

① 시ㆍ도경찰청장, 경찰서장 및 한국도로교통공단은 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우 그 운전면허증이 분실되거나 훼손되지 않도록 보관해야 한다.

1. 운전면허증을 발급받았거나 발급받으려는 사람이 법 제85조, 제85조의3, 제86조 또는 제87조에 따라 운전면허증의 발급을 신청한 후 찾아가지 않는 경우

② 시ㆍ도경찰청장, 경찰서장 및 한국도로교통공단은 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우 보관 중인 운전면허증을 지체 없이 파기해야 한다.

2. 운전면허증을 발급받은 사람이 법 제86조에 따라 운전면허증을 재발급받은 경우

③ 시ㆍ도경찰청장, 경찰서장 및 한국도로교통공단은 제2항에 따라 운전면허증을 파기한 경우 행정안전부령으로 정하는 운전면허증 파기대장에 그 사실을 기록해야 한다.
