정치자금법 제53조(정치자금범죄 신고자의 보호 등)

①정치자금범죄(제8장에 해당하는 죄를 말한다. 이 장에서 같다)에 관한 신고ㆍ진정ㆍ고소ㆍ고발 등 조사 또는 수사단서의 제공, 진술 또는 증언 그 밖에 자료제출행위 및 범인검거를 위한 제보 또는 검거활동을 한 자(이하 이 조에서 "정치자금범죄 신고자등"이라 한다)가 그와 관련하여 피해를 입거나 입을 우려가 있다고 인정할 만한 상당한 이유가 있는 경우 그 정치자금범죄에 관한 형사절차 및 선거관리위원회의 조사과정에 있어서는 「특정범죄신고자등 보호법」 제5조(불이익처우의 금지)ㆍ제7조(인적 사항의 기재생략)ㆍ제9조(신원관리카드의 열람) 내지 제12조(소송진행의 협의 등) 및 제16조(범죄신고자 등에 대한 형의 감면)의 규정을 준용한다.

②누구든지 제1항의 규정에 의하여 보호되고 있는 정치자금범죄 신고자등이라는 정을 알면서 그 인적 사항 또는 정치자금 범죄신고자등임을 미루어 알 수 있는 사실을 다른 사람에게 알려 주거나 공개 또는 보도하여서는 아니된다.
