Parking Lot Act, Article 2 (Definitions)

The terms used in this Act are defined as follows:
1. "주차장"이란 자동차의 주차를 위한 시설로서 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 종류의 것을 말한다.
1. The term "parking lot" means a facility for parking motor vehicles that falls under any of the following types:
가. 노상주차장(路上駐車場): 도로의 노면 또는 교통광장(교차점광장만 해당한다. 이하 같다)의 일정한 구역에 설치된 주차장으로서 일반(一般)의 이용에 제공되는 것
(a) On-street parking lot: A parking lot installed in a designated section of the road surface or of a traffic square (limited to an intersection square; the same shall apply hereinafter) and made available for use by the general public;
나. 노외주차장(路外駐車場): 도로의 노면 및 교통광장 외의 장소에 설치된 주차장으로서 일반의 이용에 제공되는 것
(b) Off-street parking lot: A parking lot installed in a place other than the road surface and traffic squares and made available for use by the general public;
다. 부설주차장: 제19조에 따라 건축물, 골프연습장, 그 밖에 주차수요를 유발하는 시설에 부대(附帶)하여 설치된 주차장으로서 해당 건축물ㆍ시설의 이용자 또는 일반의 이용에 제공되는 것
(c) Attached parking lot: A parking lot installed as an attachment to a building, golf practice range, or other facility that generates parking demand under Article 19, and made available for use by the users of that building or facility or by the general public;
2. "기계식주차장치"란 노외주차장 및 부설주차장에 설치하는 주차설비로서 기계장치에 의하여 자동차를 주차할 장소로 이동시키는 설비를 말한다.
2. The term "mechanical parking device" means parking equipment installed in an off-street parking lot or attached parking lot that moves motor vehicles to parking spaces by means of a mechanical device;
3. "기계식주차장"이란 기계식주차장치를 설치한 노외주차장 및 부설주차장을 말한다.
3. The term "mechanical parking lot" means an off-street parking lot or attached parking lot in which a mechanical parking device is installed;
4. "도로"란 「건축법」 제2조제1항제11호에 따른 도로로서 자동차가 통행할 수 있는 도로를 말한다.
4. The term "road" means a road under Article 2 (1) 11 of the Building Act on which motor vehicles can travel;
5. "자동차"란 「도로교통법」 제2조제18호에 따른 자동차 및 같은 법 제2조제19호에 따른 원동기장치자전거를 말한다.
5. The term "motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle under Article 2, subparagraph 18 of the Road Traffic Act and a motor-driven bicycle under Article 2, subparagraph 19 of the same Act;
6. "주차"란 「도로교통법」 제2조제24호에 따른 주차를 말한다.
6. The term "parking" means parking under Article 2, subparagraph 24 of the Road Traffic Act;
7. "주차단위구획"이란 자동차 1대를 주차할 수 있는 구획을 말한다.
7. The term "parking unit space" means a space in which one motor vehicle can be parked;
8. "주차구획"이란 하나 이상의 주차단위구획으로 이루어진 구획 전체를 말한다.
8. The term "parking section" means an entire section consisting of one or more parking unit spaces;
9. "전용주차구획"이란 제6조제1항에 따른 경형자동차(輕型自動車) 등 일정한 자동차에 한정하여 주차가 허용되는 주차구획을 말한다.
9. The term "exclusive parking section" means a parking section in which parking is permitted only for certain motor vehicles, such as light vehicles under Article 6 (1);
10. "건축물"이란 「건축법」 제2조제1항제2호에 따른 건축물을 말한다.
10. The term "building" means a building under Article 2 (1) 2 of the Building Act;
11. "주차전용건축물"이란 건축물의 연면적 중 대통령령으로 정하는 비율 이상이 주차장으로 사용되는 건축물을 말한다.
11. The term "parking-only building" means a building in which at least the ratio of its total floor area prescribed by Presidential Decree is used as a parking lot;
12. "건축"이란 「건축법」 제2조제1항제8호 및 제9호에 따른 건축 및 대수선(같은 법 제19조에 따른 용도변경을 포함한다)을 말한다.
12. The term "construction" means construction and major repair (including a change of use under Article 19 of the same Act) under Article 2 (1) 8 and 9 of the Building Act;
13. "기계식주차장치 보수업"이란 기계식주차장치의 고장을 수리하거나 고장을 예방하기 위하여 정비를 하는 사업을 말한다.
13. The term "mechanical parking device repair business" means a business of repairing breakdowns of mechanical parking devices or servicing them to prevent breakdowns.
