초ㆍ중등교육법 시행령 제17조(취학의 통지 등)

①읍ㆍ면ㆍ동의 장은 제16조제1항 본문에 따른 통보를 받은 때에는 입학할 학교를 지정하고 입학기일을 명시하여 입학기일이 속한 해의 전해 12월 20일까지 취학할 아동의 보호자에게 취학통지를 하여야 한다. <개정 2008.5.27>

②읍ㆍ면ㆍ동의 장은 제1항에 따른 취학통지를 하였을 때에는 취학할 아동에 대한 다음 각 호의 사항이 포함된 명부를 작성하여 지체 없이 입학할 학교의 장에게 통보하여야 한다. <개정 2016.10.18>

③읍ㆍ면ㆍ동의 장은 제2항에 따른 통보를 한 후 아동의 취학에 관하여 변동이 발생한 때에는 지체없이 취학할 아동의 보호자 및 입학할 학교의 장에게 통보하여야 한다. <개정 2008.5.27>

④ 읍ㆍ면ㆍ동의 장은 취학할 아동의 보호자의 부재나 주소불명 등으로 제1항에 따른 취학통지를 할 수 없는 경우에는 해당 아동의 거주지를 관할하는 경찰서의 장에게 아동의 소재 확인에 필요한 협조를 요청할 수 있다. 이 경우 요청을 받은 경찰서의 장은 특별한 사유가 없으면 적극 협조하여야 한다. <신설 2016.10.18, 2018.10.2>
