① 기금의 운용에 관한 다음 각 호의 사항을 심의ㆍ의결하기 위하여 보건복지부에 국민연금기금운용위원회(이하 "운용위원회"라 한다)를 둔다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2010.1.18>

다. 소비자단체 및 시민단체가 추천하는 자 2명

4. 관계 전문가로서 국민연금에 관한 학식과 경험이 풍부한 자 2명

③ 위원의 임기는 2년으로 하고, 1차만 연임할 수 있다. 다만, 위원장과 당연직 위원의 임기는 그 재임 기간으로 한다.

④ 위원장은 운용위원회의 회의를 소집하고 그 의장이 된다. <개정 2013.3.22>

⑤ 운용위원회의 회의는 연 4회 이상 개최하여야 하며, 재적 위원 과반수의 출석으로 개회하고, 출석 위원 과반수의 찬성으로 의결한다. 이 경우 출석하지 아니한 위원은 의결권을 행사하지 아니한 것으로 본다.

⑦ 운용위원회의 구성 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
