주민등록법 시행령 제32조(말소자와 거주불명 등록자 재등록 등)

① 주민등록이 말소되거나 거주불명으로 등록된 사람이 재등록 및 전입신고를 하려면 거주자의 경우에는 별지 제15호의2서식에, 재외국민의 경우에는 별지 제15호의3서식에 따라 거주지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장에게 재등록 및 전입신고를 해야 한다. <개정 2009.8.13, 2014.12.31, 2016.12.30, 2017.12.19, 2020.10.13>

③ 제1항에 따른 재등록 및 전입신고를 받은 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장은 주민등록정보시스템 등을 통해 본인 여부를 확인해야 한다. 다만, 본인 여부를 확인할 수 없는 경우에는 관계 기관의 장에게 신고자에 대한 신원조회를 의뢰하거나 17세 이상의 동일 세대원, 배우자, 직계혈족 또는 형제자매의 확인을 받아 본인 여부를 확인할 수 있다. <개정 2020.10.13, 2023.1.10>

⑤ 제1항에 따른 재등록 및 전입신고를 받은 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장은 말소지 또는 거주불명 등록지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장에게 그 사실을 알려야 하며, 통보를 받은 말소지 또는 거주불명 등록지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장은 지체 없이 거주지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장에게 주민등록정보시스템을 이용해 주민등록표와 관련 공부를 이송해야 한다. <개정 2009.8.13, 2020.10.13, 2023.1.10>
