동물보호법 제79조(등록대상동물의 판매에 따른 등록신청)

① 동물생산업자, 동물수입업자 및 동물판매업자는 등록대상동물을 판매하는 경우에 구매자(영업자를 제외한다)에게 동물등록의 방법을 설명하고 구매자의 명의로 특별자치시장ㆍ특별자치도지사ㆍ시장ㆍ군수ㆍ구청장에게 동물등록을 신청한 후 판매하여야 한다.

② 제1항에 따른 등록대상동물의 등록신청에 대해서는 제15조를 준용한다.
